Kates Kitchen

Kate’s Kitchen exists to create enticing and interesting food that deals with the delicate balance between what people want to eat and what’s good for them. We make food that is good for your taste buds, your tummy, your wallet and your planet.

Good food is in our blood

Set up in 2007, the passion and precision ever-present in Kate’s Kitchen dates back much much further. With a grandmother who was well trained in farmhouse cooking and a mother who nurtured her home-grown fruit and veg, Kate was immersed in all things foodie from a very young age.

Kate’s Kitchen is privately owned and intentionally small. Attention to detail and the flexibility to adapt, together with low overheads, mean we are best placed to serve our growing local client base of professional and private people who demand and deserve more from outside catering. Kate currently employs a kitchen manager, two other chefs, office manager, delivery driver and three permanent waitresses. Additional temporary event-specific assistants for kitchen and front of house are always carefully selected to deliver service with a smile.

Determined to be better

Having chefed in Bristol’s best restaurants and studied for a Hospitality Management degree at university, Kate was convinced that the high quality cooking typical of local restaurants could, and should, be replicated without compromise regardless of an event’s location or scale. And she was perfectly positioned to accomplish it.

Coming up with creative menus was only part of the story. Committed to offering a better service too, Kate’s Kitchen is attentive to individual requests, prompt and precise in the promises it makes, careful in hiring staff and conscientious in catering for clients who care about the food.

Principles

Kate’s Kitchen is a business designed around food cooked in our kitchen using locally sourced ingredients whenever possible:

– Menus change according to seasonal food supplies

– Real food made on site with care, love and attention

– Waste vegetable products are composted

– Consumables, including food containers, are recycled and reused where possible

– Special dietary requirements are accommodated

Suppliers are chosen after careful discussions regarding their products and practices

– Prospective clients are approached who share our compulsion to contribute to the local community

– Staff are selected according to their sensibilities as well as their skills

Five star food hygiene awarded

Kate’s Kitchen has been awarded a maximum five star rating for food hygiene by the recognised Scores on the Doors – the world’s largest and leading accrediting body.

We are delighted with this rating and high scoring award as we take food hygiene very seriously and, of course, it’s also nice for our hard work and commitment to be recognised.

Scores on the Doors is a national public information service where you can find the official local authority hygiene ratings for food related businesses in the UK.
